All good things come to an end.
Folks, it’s time.
We wish we could have stuck around longer but it is with a heavy heart that we are informing you that we’re closing our beloved Enigma Fine Chocolates brick-and-mortar store in Braddon mid-next week.
This is definitely a difficult decision that we have spent many sleepless nights ruminating, but we feel it’s the right one.
As most of you know, this is a family owned and run small business. Every aspect has been done by our small team – from making the delicious treats, to packaging, marketing, admin and until recently even local deliveries. In between all of this, we’re also trying to raise tiny human beings.
We need to take a long and overdue break from the burnout that a small business can create as well as to refocus on our work/life balance.
Our last day of trade will be next week – Wednesday 27th September (unless sold out prior).
We have turned off our online store as we want to make sure we don’t oversell any products and cause disappointment. Stu will be at the shop until we close to see all of our loyal and amazing customers for one last time (pls bring coffees and possibly Kleenex).
We are so incredibly proud of all the things we have achieved, and people we have met and made happy with our chocolates. To think it all started years ago from a tiny family kitchen and a few local markets!
Mostly, it’s the conversations we have had with you around good quality chocolate, that is traceable and sourced sustainably, that we hope will stick around with all of you in this somewhat green-washed industry.
We want to thank you all so so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for all the support and love you have given us over the years. We have been so lucky to have such a loyal circle of beautiful people, some of which we first met back in 2015 and have been with us ever since!
For now, we will have to say goodbye, until we figure out next steps where we hope to bring Enigma back at some point to continue our love and passion for all things chocolate!
But for the foreseeable future, we’ll focus on enjoying life.
Much love,
Stu & enigma team xx
